I have been tinkering from a young age, taking things apart to see how things were put together. As I've grown, this hasn't stopped and it's given me a lot of experience in answering the question of "what works" when solutions hit real world environments.
In addition, my years of experimentation has given me a lot of feedback on how to make things easily-constructible with a bare minimum of equipment, or in the last couple years with access to the school machine shop, with a minimal number of operations on standard 3-axis CNC mills.
I just finished my last year of college for a Mechanical Engineering bachelors degree, with a focus on mechanical systems, robotics, and sensors/data acquisition for my upper division electives.
Beyond that, I have been 3D printing since 2014, I can proficiently TIG weld in both steel and aluminum, program and operate 3 axis CNC mills (using HSMWorks CAM plugin for Solidworks), design tooling and jigs for workholding, and use Solidworks sheetmetal tools for rapid and low cost prototyping. I also have a good deal of experience with Onshape CAD, as it is the program I first learned real parametric CAD in before moving to Solidworks.
I am looking for a full time job where I can apply what I've learned, and expand my skillset with each project. I would strongly prefer to stay in the San Diego area.
Please check out the skills page in the top bar to see if I could be a good fit at your company.
Have a position open? I would love to hear about it!
